Working Hours & Conduct
Standards that ensure a safe, respectful environment for staff and patients alike.
Working Hours

Standard clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm. Saturday morning clinics run 8:00am–1:00pm on a rotational basis. All doctors are expected to complete their rostered sessions and provide at least 4 weeks notice for leave.

Conduct Standards
  • βœ“ Professional attire at all times in clinical areas
  • βœ“ Zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment
  • βœ“ All patient interactions must be documented same-day
  • βœ“ Social media: no patient identifiable content ever
Incident Reporting

Any clinical incident, near-miss, or complaint must be reported via the online incident form within 24 hours. Serious adverse events must be escalated to the Clinical Lead immediately by phone.

πŸ”” The incident reporting system is accessible from the staff intranet homepage. Your login credentials were emailed on day one.

Communication Protocols

Internal communication uses the clinic's secure messaging system (not personal email or SMS). For urgent clinical escalation, use the internal extension system or bleep the on-call doctor.

  • βœ“ Never share login credentials
  • βœ“ Always log out when leaving a workstation
Appointment Booking

The reception team manages bookings via BookEase. You can view your daily schedule, add clinical notes, and mark follow-ups directly in the system. Urgent same-day appointments are flagged in orange.

IT Security

Patient Care Standards
Core protocols from intake through to escalation and discharge.
Patient Intake & Triage

Reception completes initial intake. A triage nurse flags urgent cases before they reach you. Review the triage note and vitals in MedChart Pro before entering the consultation room.

Consent & Confidentiality
  • βœ“ Verbal consent for routine consultations
  • βœ“ Written consent for procedures, referrals, and sharing records
  • βœ“ Never discuss patient details in public areas
  • βœ“ Third party requests require patient's signed authorisation
Vulnerable Patients

Patients flagged as vulnerable (elderly, paediatric, mental health) have a coloured indicator in MedChart. Always offer a chaperone and ensure sufficient consultation time is booked.

Emergency Escalation

🚨 For any life-threatening emergency: call 000 first, then bleep the on-call doctor (Ext. 999). The crash trolley is located outside Room 4 on each floor.
